IDENTIFY BEFORE ORDERING
Spectra’s manual index places Mk II at 2009–2012. This guide uses its February 2012 manual. Dates help find the manual; installed labels decide a replacement. The Mk II documents a separate booster/service module, clear three-piece 20 / 5-micron prefilters and a half-HP motor with PWM speed control. It is distinct from the earlier Newport 400 MPC.
Manufacturer generation / manual index ↗A 24V boat can have an original 24V motor or a later 12V motor operating through a correctly programmed PWM controller. Record the motor label, speed-controller code and system supply separately.
The Mk II outside drawing names CB10; Mk II-Z also illustrates a CB10 center block. Replaced pumps must be identified by ratio and revision. The 7%, 10% and 20% parts in a shared rebuild manual are not all interchangeable.
Current ratio differences ↗FOLLOW THE WATER
Intake strainer → single booster → 20-micron prefilter → 5-micron prefilter → magnetic-drive main feed pump → Clark Pump and membrane. Both sediment stages are before the main feed pump in these manuals.
The main feed-pump head, motor and PWM speed controller are separate purchases. The Clark Pump recovers pressure energy; the membrane separates product water from brine. The accumulator smooths pressure pulses.
Carbon treats freshwater used for flushing. The salinity probe, product flow meter and diversion valve monitor and route product water; they are separate from the seawater intake manifold and flush valve.
FILTER DIMENSIONS AND THE SPECTRA MATRIX
20-micron, 5-micron and carbon cartridges are each nominal 10 inches long × 2.5 inches in diameter. Nominal format can differ from end-to-end measurement. Carbon and sediment perform different jobs even when their size matches.

These manuals show the clear three-piece housing. A changed black FT-FTH-10H bowl uses its own SO-FHS-10H seal and FT-FHW-10H wrench. A modified Z-Ion bowl needs separate identification. The discontinued standard housing/wrench in the matrix is a separate style.
The Mk II drawing identifies 6-inch strainer; the spares list names 6-inch screen and gasket. Match the actual body after any replacement.

MEMBRANE LENGTH AND COUNT
The Mk II spares page explicitly lists a 40-inch membrane; the assembly drawing shows one vessel. One KIT-MB-40F replaces one original 2.5 × 40-inch element and supplies replacement seals. Match the fitted long vessel.

The later Newport 400c Compact uses shorter elements. That later configuration does not prove a compact retrofit on Mk II or Mk II-Z. If your vessels differ from the long assembly, confirm the actual arrangement before ordering.

The 140MAG head is separate from motor, controller and intake booster. The drawings say C120 while the current store name says C100. Confirm the stamped head, pressure rating, coupling and ports with Spectra. The remanufactured package candidate has its own contents; the Mk II-Z spares label KIT-PMP-140MAG is not an established catalog alias.

Original motor / controller labels ↗The manufacturer’s conversion uses an eligible PWM controller with separately adjusted high, low and flush outputs. Its illustrations use Connect controls. Confirm the matching MPC procedure and actual controller with Spectra before ordering the 12V motor for a 24V system. This is not a direct connection to boat supply.

CHECK THE ACTUAL CHIP
Both model manuals document MPC-5000 controls. An MPC-3000 upgrade is not offered as a routine replacement for these generations. Identify modified controls with Spectra. The Mk II-Z manual illustrates A37; that does not prove a replaced board still has A37.

Flow, salinity and diversion have different functions. Keep automatic product-water diversion protection; a sensor reading alone does not establish membrane failure. Use the model calibration procedure and an independent calibrated meter.

The Mk II drawing uses an older O12VB flush label. Do not treat its suffix as an established alias for every later Spartan body or coil.
Legacy ECI/Alcon coil conversion retains the old body. With-body candidate is not an automatic replacement for Newport O12SP. Confirm actual body, output, ports and mounting with Spectra. Boat voltage alone does not identify the flush coil.
Legacy diversion-valve record, diversion manifold candidate and Burkert conversion kit have different scopes. The manufacturer chart allows the appropriate Burkert route on 12V and 24V systems. Confirm original valve, manifold and adaptation fittings with Spectra.
INSTALLED RATIO AND CURRENT SUFFIX
CB10 center block, one 7/8-inch rod and PR10 rod seals belong to the documented 10% arrangement. Confirm the actual ratio after a retrofit. Two seal locations do not establish catalog pack quantity.
The Mk II outside drawing names A1/B1, while its parts table mislabels B as A2 and also includes a one-inch spool seal. The current 7% / 10% pair is A1 / B1 with 1-1/4-inch bores. Confirm actual side, bore and revision with Spectra. Use the matching 7% / 10% spool piston/seal.
Current ratio-specific top end ↗10% distributor rebuild kit and seal and O-ring kit are different purchases. The distributor kit excludes spacer rings and top-end spool pistons and supplies no tools or instructions. Compare current contents before duplicating loose pieces.

Replace dirty sediment elements according to actual conditions. Keep the documented 20-then-5-micron sequence. Historical washing advice is not a blanket recommendation for every current cartridge. Replace carbon at least every six months as the model manual specifies.
Model maintenance ↗SC-1 storage compound serves a different purpose from SC-2 / SC-3 cleaners. Follow the installed-equipment storage, flush and recommissioning procedure. SC-1 does not provide freeze protection.
Cruise Kit B is named in the spares table. The offshore 7% / 10% service kit has a different scope. Compare current contents and supplies already onboard before adding filters, seals or tools.

Low production and an incorrect salinity reading require different checks. Verify suspect product-water readings with a calibrated independent meter and keep automatic diversion protection.
