Overview

Overview

EL-MTR-PWMA is the pulse-width-modulation speed-control assembly identified alongside the Newport feed-pump motor. It controls motor operation and is separate from the watermaker’s main control board.

The parts manual shows it in the Newport 400 module and labels it as a 24V assembly in the Newport 700/1000 DC module. The catalog uses a 12/24V designation; match the actual system revision and controller setup.

On the documented Newport 400 conversion from a discontinued 24V motor to the 12V motor, the PWM output needs adjustment for high, low and flush operation.

All documented configurations and requirements

Each group applies only to the listed configurations and installed hardware. Match the conditions and manufacturer references before ordering.

Documented configurations

  • Newport 1000C · Connect · 24 VDC · Standard / long membranes · NP-1000C-24
  • Newport 700C · Connect · 24 VDC · Standard / long membranes · NP-700C-24

PWM assembly shown in the May 2025 Newport 700/1000 24V module. Controller settings must match model, control platform and actual motor. The standard controller is not documented as model-preset; MPC and Connect use the speed channels differently. For retrofit motors, use the applicable conversion instructions instead of assuming a factory preset.

  • Newport 700C · Connect · 24 VDC · Standard / long membranes · NP-700C-24

Newport 700/1000 24V electrical module. Match installed assembly, port/thread or tube dimensions, material and pressure duty; documented original arrangement only. System input: 24V; retain the documented component supply and wiring. 24V module; control board needs correct model firmware. Historical PWMA24-to-PWMA order-code equivalence remains a separate issue. Controller settings must match model, control platform and actual motor. The standard controller is not documented as model-preset; MPC and Connect use the speed channels differently. For retrofit motors, use the applicable conversion instructions instead of assuming a factory preset.

Documented configurations

  • Newport 400 Mk II · MPC 5000 · Match installed voltage and hardware

Documented PWM controller with the original 12/24V brushed motor. Requires model/MPC-specific speed setup, correct heat-sink clearance and actual motor identification after a retrofit. System input: 12/24 V; retain the specified component supply and wiring.

current Newport 400 Connect feed motor/controller. Match installed assembly, port/thread or tube dimensions, material and pressure duty; documented original arrangement only. System input: 12/24/48V; retain the documented component supply and wiring. Current May 2025 module with its documented supplies. Older 24V motor replacement requires the conversion bulletin and PWM reprogramming; not a drop-in swap. Controller settings must match model, control platform and actual motor. The standard controller is not documented as model-preset; MPC and Connect use the speed channels differently. For retrofit motors, use the applicable conversion instructions instead of assuming a factory preset.
