SP4N short-lead listing

The catalog identifies EL-MPC-SP4N as an SP4 probe with a 3-foot cable. The current manufacturer replacement guide names EL-MPC-SP4 but does not establish SP4N interchangeability. Possible applications are linked below for Spectra confirmation; they are not verified SP4N substitutions.

Controller & Probe Replacement

Identify the installed controls first

Check the display's revision identifier. Establish MPC-3000 versus MPC-5000 before using a chip-based repair path; a system name alone cannot identify replacement electronics.

MPC-3000

SP4 requires an eligible MPC-5000 conversion. Check voltage, model exclusions and installation requirements in the 12V kit or 24V kit. Santa Cruz, Gulfstream and 380C are excluded by the conversion manual; Monterey remains under review. The conversion kit already includes an SP4 probe.

MPC-5000 chip revision

  • B-series or A31: A40 board plus SP4.
  • A34 or A35: SP4 with EL-MPC-SPCBA, or A40 board plus SP4.
  • A36: SP4; daughterboard may be present or absent.
  • A37, A39 or A40: SP4.
  • Other or unreadable revision: no confirmed path in this reference.
