MPC is the control family
Check for Ventura 200T MPC on the system paperwork and inspect the control box. The LCD MPC panel differs from the Connect touchscreen and Remote Manual panel. Deluxe analog controls have their own guide.
SPECTRA OWNER GUIDE
Find the two seawater prefilters, short membrane and 10% Clark Pump parts for your older automated Ventura. Identify the MPC controller before choosing a salinity probe, board or upgrade kit.
12V / 24V DC · MPC controls · 10% Clark Pump · one short membraneUse the labels on the pump and control box. A replaced board can change which parts apply.
Mechanical parts are shown. Select voltage and controls for electrical references.
CHECK BEFORE ORDERING
Check for Ventura 200T MPC on the system paperwork and inspect the control box. The LCD MPC panel differs from the Connect touchscreen and Remote Manual panel. Deluxe analog controls have their own guide.
MPC-3000 and MPC-5000 use different replacement paths. On an MPC-5000 display, record the A## or B## software/chip identification shown at startup. An original build date is a clue, not proof of the board fitted today.
The original Ventura 200T MPC uses a 10% Clark Pump and one short membrane vessel. Match the installed pump label, vessel and plumbing after a retrofit; the other Ventura output uses different center-block, rod and rod-seal parts.
The MPC manual warns against operating the 200T below 50°F / 10°C: colder water can increase operating pressure and feed-pump wear. 200T warning ↗
FOLLOW THE WATER
Sea strainer catches larger debris before the voltage-specific feed pump. The accumulator smooths feed-pressure pulses.
20-micron filtration comes before the 5-micron element. The MPC controller compares pressure across these filters; the clear carbon bowl belongs to the separate flush circuit.
The Clark Pump recovers pressure energy. The short seawater membrane separates product water from brine. Its seals and vessel hardware serve different jobs.
A flow sensor measures production. The salinity probe measures dissolved solids, and the diversion valve sends acceptable product water to the tank. These are separate parts on the product-water manifold.
ANSWER THE SIZE QUESTION
The documented original MPC layout has two seawater elements: 20 micron, then 5 micron. Both are nominal 10 inches long × 2.5 inches in diameter. The freshwater-flush carbon cartridge has the same nominal size but a different function.
| Stage | Element and size | Housing / seal / wrench |
|---|---|---|
| First seawater prefilter | FT-FTC-20 20 micron · nominal 10 × 2.5 in | Black high-pressure housing SO-FHS-10H seal FT-FHW-10H wrench |
| Second seawater prefilter | FT-FTC-5 5 micron · nominal 10 × 2.5 in | Same documented black housing style. Match the installed pressure-sensor ports and bracket. |
| Freshwater flush | FT-FTC-CC Carbon · nominal 10 × 2.5 in | Clear three-piece flush housing SO-FHS-3PCS10 seal FT-FHW-3PCS wrench |
| Intake strainer | FT-STN-5S screen | FT-STN-5 strainer SO-STN-5SS seal |
MPC prefilter service ↗ · Original housing/strainer photo ↗ · Spectra housing, O-ring and wrench matrix ↗
The older drawing shortens the black housing seal to SO-FHS-10; the spares list and filter matrix use SO-FHS-10H. A changed low-pressure bowl or older standard housing can use a different seal/wrench. Nominal size is not an exact end-to-end measurement or a universal housing-fit claim.
The MPC manual places FT-FTC-OW oil/water element in the 20-micron position when that option is used. Follow its specific instructions; do not treat it as an extra fourth standard filter. The Z-Ion flush module changes the bowl/control arrangement and still contains a carbon element in the documented MPC setup. Confirm installed generator generation and bowl with Spectra.
Optional oil/water arrangement ↗ · MPC Z-Ion flush bowl ↗CHOOSE THE RIGHT REPLACEMENT PATH
The model name alone does not select the probe. Use the installed controller generation and, for MPC-5000, its chip version. This table remains a readable reference even without the selectors.
| Installed controls | Documented path | Before choosing parts |
|---|---|---|
| MPC-3000 | Eligible 12V / 24V MPC-5000 conversion kit | SP4 needs conversion first. Verify supply voltage, wiring and system programming. |
| MPC-5000 · B-series or A31 | A40 board + SP4 probe | The old direct replacement was SP1, now factory-obsolete. Confirm board configuration and wiring. |
| MPC-5000 · A34 / A35 | SP4 + EL-MPC-SPCBA daughter board, or A40 board + SP4 | The daughter board has no matching listing in this catalog. Confirm which route and existing hardware apply. |
| MPC-5000 · A36 | SP4 probe | Manufacturer lists compatibility with or without the daughter board; check cable reach and connection. |
| MPC-5000 · A37 / A39 / A40 | SP4 probe | A37 is the first version with the daughter-board function built in. Match actual connector and cable. |
| Unknown or another chip version | Confirm with Spectra | Do not infer a route from a nearby chip number or the watermaker’s build date. |

Wiring re-termination and system-specific programming are required. The 24V kit also includes a 12V flush solenoid because A40 uses a 12V flush output. A board-only purchase is not this complete conversion.
Kit contents and current wiring notes ↗ · Original conversion instructions ↗A40 board plus SP4 probe. Confirm wiring and programming with Spectra. This does not make an unknown controller a verified MPC-5000 installation.
SP4 needs EL-MPC-SPCBA daughter board with these chip versions, or select the complete A40 board-and-probe route. Check whether the daughter board is already fitted. Confirm the missing daughter-board item with Spectra before ordering a probe alone.
SP4 · 15-foot cable. Confirm connector and cable routing. The 3-foot SP4N catalog option is a separate review link; confirm its exact interface with Spectra before substituting it.
Spectra marks SP1 obsolete at the factory from July 2023; old dealer stock is not proof of continuing manufacture. The legacy SP1 page preserves identification and replacement guidance. SP2 and SP3 are also obsolete in the current manufacturer guide.
RATIO-SPECIFIC MECHANICAL PARTS
HP-CB-CB10 is the center-block reference for the original 10% arrangement. It is a block without inserts; check package contents before assuming inserts or valves are included.
HP‐CYL‐7/8R pairs with SO-HPP-PR10. The 7% rod is 3/4 inch and the 10% rod is 7/8 inch; their center blocks and rod seals differ. The rebuild reference shows two rod-seal locations, not a promise of two seals in a catalog pack.
10% distributor rebuild kit and the seal/O-ring kit serve different repair scopes. Compare contents with individual components. Tools and instructions are not included in the distributor kit.
The MPC manual’s outside/center drawings show a 7% block and 3/4-inch rod. Its reversing-valve callouts also abbreviate or mix older codes. This Ventura 200T MPC guide uses the ratio-specific references above; match the fitted ratio and revision before ordering. The 2024 rebuild manual identifies A1/B1 end blocks with 1-1/4-inch bores for 7% and 10% pumps.

LOCATE THE PART
Choose the assembly first. The four Clark Pump choices keep the outside and each internal group easy to find. Open the PDF for full-size callouts; these are manufacturer drawings, not an MPC-specific 3D reconstruction.
Showing all assembly drawings.

The original vessel uses one short membrane. Its retaining ring and external tube/mounting hardware are separate service items.

Locate the two black prefilter housings, intake strainer and accumulator. The carbon flush bowl is also pictured but is a separate stage.

Flow sensor, salinity probe and diversion valve are separate functions. The 2017 photo is an identification reference; current probe and valve replacement paths are above.

The illustrated center block is 7%. For this Ventura 200T MPC, use HP-CB-CB10 after checking the installed pump ratio.

Find spool, annular rings, relief valve and end-block seals. The old page abbreviates several codes and includes a 20% spool-piston suffix; use the current 7%/10% rebuild references for the fitted pump.

The drawing shows a 3/4-inch rod. This Ventura 200T MPC uses HP‐CYL‐7/8R and SO-HPP-PR10 in the reviewed original ratio; confirm the actual pump before ordering.

Cylinder, piston, end cap, retaining ring, end-cap seal and stainless J-tube have different repair roles. A complete assembly and an individual seal do not supply the same contents.
ONE SHORT ELEMENT
The MPC introduction says 20 inches; the vessel drawing says 21 inches. Both identify the original short arrangement. Choose KIT-MB-20F, one kit for the original single element, after checking the installed vessel. A 40-inch element is not inferred from the 200T’s higher output.
Membrane and replacement seals are included in the current membrane kit. The retaining ring and vessel end-plug repairs use separate hardware. Identify the failed part before buying the element and hardware together.
Pump head assembly, the voltage-specific motor/pump and heat sink are different listings. The package options KIT-FP-SF12/KIT-FP-SF24 need a contents/mounting check before assuming every module fitting is supplied.
OLDER HARDWARE, CURRENT REPLACEMENTS
The old photo names ECI/Alcon diversion hardware. Spectra’s chart identifies KIT-MNF-BURDV12 Burkert conversion for both 12V and 24V systems. Match the actual valve type, manifold, tubing and wiring with Spectra; this is not a freshwater-flush valve.
KIT-SLN-ECISPO1 is the legacy 12V ECI flush-solenoid route retaining the valve body. PL-SLN-1/4O12SV includes the replacement valve body. Identify the installed coil and function before choosing either.
The A40 controls conversion uses a 12V flush output, and its 24V conversion kit includes a 12V flush solenoid. An older controller/coil may differ. Use the installed board, valve label and conversion instructions together.

LOOK AFTER THE SYSTEM
Replace dirty 20- and 5-micron elements with new approved replacements. The 2017 manual describes limited filter cleaning, but Spectra’s current cartridge pages recommend new elements. Replace flush carbon at least every six months, following the installed arrangement.
SC-1 is a storage compound. SC-2 and SC-3 are separate cleaning chemicals. Z-Ion and SC-1 are not freeze protection; use the manufacturer’s installed-system storage/winterizing procedure.
Cruise Kit B is the MPC manual’s short-cruise reference. Offshore Kit has a broader service scope. Review current contents and what you carry before duplicating filters, seals, tools or cleaning chemicals.
The manual’s flow test helps distinguish supply/filtration, feed-pump and Clark Pump problems before membrane cleaning or replacement. Compare measured product quality with a calibrated handheld meter if the displayed salinity is suspect. Keep automatic diversion protection active and use the manufacturer’s diagnostic procedure.
Ventura flow test ↗ · Probe calibration ↗ANSWERS FOR MPC OWNERS
Two nominal 10 × 2.5-inch seawater elements: 20 micron followed by 5 micron. The carbon element is separate and protects the freshwater flush path from chlorine.
Identify MPC-3000 versus MPC-5000 first. MPC-3000 needs an eligible controls conversion; MPC-5000 depends on its chip version. A34/A35 need an additional interface or the board-and-probe route.
The current manufacturer instructions retain the existing MPC display. The conversion includes several components and needs wiring changes and system-specific programming; it is not a board-only plug-in swap.
They share many 7%/10% components, but the original 150 uses 7% and the 200T uses 10%. The center block, piston rod and rod seals differ. Match the actual ratio after a replacement.
This guide retains MPC controller-specific paths. A Connect touchscreen, three-button Remote panel or Deluxe analog part is not inferred to replace MPC hardware.
Keep the product reference available, but confirm the exact controller, installed part code and revision with Spectra before ordering. An unlisted chip version is not assigned the nearest documented replacement path.
