Newport 1000C or 700C?
20% Clark Pump
The 1000C high-pressure module identifies KIT-HP20 and the HP-CB-CB20 center block. The Newport 400C has a 10% pump, so do not carry its ratio-specific service choices over to this system. Check the installed pump label and revision.
Four electrical supplies
24V and 48V DC systems use different motors and control paths. The AC models have 110V or 220V system input, but the manufacturer drawing identifies the same 240VAC three-phase feed motor downstream of speed controls. Read both labels before replacing electrical components.
MATCH EACH FILTER
Seawater stages and freshwater flush
The seawater prefilters are nominal 10 × 2.5 inches: 20 micron upstream and 5 micron downstream. The carbon cartridge treats the separate freshwater flush; matching cartridge size does not make these stages interchangeable.

The sea strainer is ahead of the booster pump. The standard six-inch screen differs from the plastic strainer screen labeled FT-STN-6SP. Match the body and seal before ordering.

Explore the four modules
These are Spectra’s 700C/1000C parts drawings. The upper high-pressure drawing shows the 1000C three-vessel layout. Choose a module to compare the installed assembly.
Sea strainer & booster
The six-inch strainer and 8–24V booster pump are ahead of the feed module. The 48V system uses a separate voltage-conversion path; do not wire an 8–24V pump directly to 48V.
Feed pump & prefilters
The mag-drive vane pump moves seawater through separate 20-micron and 5-micron housings. The pump head, motor and motor controller are distinct items.
Freshwater flush & carbon
The freshwater-flush path uses a separate carbon cartridge. Z-Ion installations include a modified bowl and control arrangement.
20% pump & three membranes
The upper drawing is the 1000C three-vessel pressure module. The lower drawing is the 700C two-vessel version. The upper drawing identifies FM-PVB-TB tower and FM-PVB-PBI intermediate brackets, plus stainless upper and lower tubes and FT-PV-UTC U-tube connectors. The mounting brackets are not in this catalog; match installed geometry before ordering the linked tubing.
THE 1000C DIFFERENCE
Three vessels, one 20% pump
Membranes and vessel hardware
The original three pressure vessels each hold one 2.5 × 40-inch membrane kit. The drawing also identifies U-tube connectors and retaining rings; these are separate hardware items, not extra membranes.
Stainless tubes and brackets
Upper pressure tube and lower pressure tube are distinct. The extra tower bracket FM-PVB-TB, intermediate bracket FM-PVB-PBI, and end bracket FM-PVB-PBE are called out in the 1000C drawing but have no product page in this catalog.
Do not use the vessel count for pump parts
The three membrane vessels set the membrane purchase quantity; the illustrated Clark Pump still has its own two-cylinder service groups. The 700C and 1000C share a documented 20% pump family, but the full pressure-module arrangement differs.
INSIDE THE 20% PUMP
Explore the actual 1000C exploded drawings
The prior guide’s 3D pump reconstruction supports 7% and 10% hardware. It cannot accurately represent this 20% pump, so these manufacturer drawings are the identification view. Compare the installed pump ratio and revision before ordering internal components.
Outside
The 20% center block joins the two cylinder assemblies. The drawing labels A and B valve end blocks as different parts.
Reversing valve
The valve spool, bleed valve and several seals have distinct drawing labels. Check rebuild-kit contents before buying individual seals.
Center block
The drawing shows pilot and check valves plus rod-lip seals. It also labels a photograph HP-CYL-7/8R as a 10% rod on this 20% pump page. That label does not establish which rod and seal fit every installed 20% revision; confirm those two items with Spectra.
Cylinder assembly
Check the cylinder, stainless tube, retaining ring and end cap against the installed revision and the service procedure.
Full rebuild or individual seals?
20% distributor rebuild kit and 20% seal and O-ring kit have different scopes. Check the kit contents and installed pump before ordering overlapping parts. The manufacturer drawings are an identification aid, not a disassembly procedure.

CARE & BUYING CHOICES
Choose only what the task needs
Membrane replacement
Replace one element with one membrane kit. Replacing all three original 1000C elements needs three kits. Retaining rings and vessel end-plug hardware are separate repairs; check the installed vessel before adding them.
Filters and storage
Replace dirty seawater prefilters as the manual directs. Change the flush carbon filter at least every six months. SC-1 preserves a stored system; SC-2 and SC-3 address different diagnosed membrane fouling.
Service and controls
Inspect the installed Connect display and cable before choosing the display-plus-cable kit or display only. 20% offshore spares kit may overlap individual seals; review contents first.

Frequently confused choices
Does the Newport 1000C use one or three membrane kits?
The original Newport 1000C has three 2.5 × 40-inch membrane elements. One KIT-MB-40F replaces one; three kits replace all three. Count installed vessels if the system has been modified.
Are the 1000C and 700C pressure modules identical?
Both have a documented 20% pump, but the 1000C has a third membrane vessel, different pressure-module layout and extra mounting hardware. Match the installed tubing and vessel arrangement before ordering.
Which filter goes first?
Seawater enters the 20-micron FT-FTC-20 prefilter, then the 5-micron FT-FTC-5. The carbon FT-FTC-CC is in the separate freshwater-flush circuit.
Why does a 110V Newport list a 240VAC three-phase motor?
Spectra labels the installed motor EL-MTR-3/4AC220 in both AC module drawings. The motor-speed controller connects system input to the motor. Check the installed motor and controller labels.
Does the 48V system have a 48V booster pump?
The booster-pump drawing labels an 8–24V part. The 48V module also contains a 48-to-24V converter; do not connect the booster directly to the 48V supply.
Can the 400C 3D Clark Pump model identify 1000C internal parts?
No. That reconstruction supports 7% and 10% geometry. Use the original 20% Newport exploded drawings and installed part labels for this system.
