The 330R has a remote control panel and an automatic freshwater flush duration. The older CH-330 analog version has different controls. The wiring diagram lists CH-330R-12V, CH-330RS-12V, CH-330R-24V and CH-330RS-24V.

Standard or compact
Count the installed vessels: standard has one 40-inch membrane; compact has two shorter 20-inch membranes. A retrofit can change the original configuration.
Spectra also describes the short KIT-MB-20F as 21 inches in some parts listings; identify it by SKU and vessel.
Two parallel feed pumps
Modules A and B each contain a Shurflo pump. One can be run alone for lower output, or both for full production. Match each motor and fan to 12V or 24V.
Check the installed Clark Pump ratio.The manual calls this a 10% pump in its flow-test instructions, yet labels a 7% center block and rod in its parts drawings. Ratio-specific pieces and rebuild paths below are linked with an explicit Spectra confirmation step.
TWO DIFFERENT FILTER PATHS
Filter size, housing & seal
Both replacement cartridges are nominally 10 inches long × 2.5 inches in diameter. They filter different water supplies. Identify the housing and sealing ends as well as cartridge size.

The five-inch strainer screen and matching strainer seal sit before the pumps. An optional oil/water separator needs an added upstream housing; it does not replace the normal 5-micron cartridge.

Choose by control type and revision
Z-Ion on Remote Manual
Automated Z-Ion is shown in the 330R wiring and optional-installation instructions. It uses a generator bowl in place of the ordinary carbon filter bowl and is a different installation from manual Z-Ion, which belongs to analog controls.
The older compact fact sheet describes analog controls and ZION-MAN despite the 330R model name. Follow the installed controller, wiring and current 330R manual for this choice.
Remote Manual controls
Remote board and remote panel are separate items. Read the installed part label and wiring connector before ordering a replacement.
The 12V conversion kit and 24V conversion kit address eligible analog Cape Horn starting systems. They are not repair kits for an existing 330R.
Clark Pump service
7% / 10% seal-and-O-ring kit covers shared seals. The 10% distributor rebuild kit is a conditional link because the 330R manual has contradictory ratio labels. Confirm the installed pump before purchase.

Filter service
Replace dirty 5-micron seawater cartridges as needed; Spectra says not to count on cleaning them for reuse. Replace the carbon flush element at least every six months. Clean the sea strainer separately.
Storage and recommissioning
SC-1 preservative is for storage, while SC-2 and SC-3 serve different membrane-cleaning jobs. Follow the installed Z-Ion or chemical-preservation procedure; Z-Ion is not freeze protection.
Diagnose low output
Check voltage at the pumps, strainer debris, clean prefilters, leaks and flow using one pump and both pumps before buying a membrane. The manual calls a flow test the most useful diagnostic check.

Common buying questions
What size filters does the 330R use?
The seawater cartridge is FT-FTC-5, 5 micron, nominal 10 × 2.5 inches. The freshwater flush cartridge is FT-FTC-CC, a nominal 10 × 2.5-inch carbon block. They use different housings and seals.
How many membranes are in the compact model?
The original compact model has two short 2.5 × 20-inch membranes. One KIT-MB-20F kit supplies one replacement element, so two kits replace both. The standard model has one 2.5 × 40-inch element.
Is a Cape Horn 330 the same as the 330R?
The 330R has Remote Manual controls and timed freshwater flushing. The older 330 is an analog/manual control system. Match the system label and panel before selecting electrical or upgrade parts.
Does this guide prove that my Clark Pump is 10%?
No. The current 330R manual calls it a 10% recovery pump in the flow-test text but labels 7% pieces in the parts drawings. Check the installed pump label and confirm ratio-specific replacements with Spectra.
Can I use the analog Cape Horn Z-Ion kit?
The 330R Remote Manual wiring and manual show an automated Z-Ion option. ZION-MAN is described for analog controls. Confirm the installed generator bowl and connector when replacing a kit.
Does the 3D picture contain every 330R part?
