Overview

Cartridge length × outside diameter: 10 × 2.5 inches. Manufacturer nominal length × outside diameter. Nominal size classes may differ from measured end-to-end dimensions.

FT-FTC-CC removes chlorine from the boat’s freshwater supply before that water is used to flush the watermaker. This protects the reverse-osmosis membrane during freshwater flushing and the idle period that follows.

The cartridge contains a solid carbon block. It performs a different job from the pleated seawater prefilters: replacing a sediment cartridge does not renew the flush system’s chlorine protection.

The Ventura manual specifies replacement at least every six months. Its carbon-filter bulletin also gives a capacity limit of 3,000 gallons at 1.5 GPM, or six months, whichever comes first. These are flush-filter limits, not the watermaker’s fresh-water production rating.

Match the freshwater-flush housing. The standard FT-FTC-CC and commercial FT-FTC-CCBB have different diameters; neither is identified merely by the word “carbon.”
