Overview
SC-3 is Spectra’s powdered acid cleaner for mineral scaling on reverse-osmosis membranes. The current manufacturer reference is KIT-CHEM-SC3; the store’s established SKU remains SC-3.
Choose it for the mineral-deposit cleaning task identified by the system instructions. Biological fouling calls for the separate alkaline cleaner SC-2. Cleaning will not correct an undersupplied feed pump or damaged membrane seals.

FAQs
Should SC-3 always be used before SC-2?
Spectra’s instructions describe acid-first cleaning for typical scale treatment but allow a different sequence when biological fouling is known. Use the condition-specific manual procedure; never mix the two cleaners.
Can I leave SC-3 in the watermaker for storage?
No. Complete the cleaning and purge procedure, then use the system’s storage method if it will remain idle.
