Overview
SO-STN-5SS seals the bowl joint of the FT-STN-5 small sea strainer. The Ventura drawing places this seal beside the separately replaceable FT-STN-5S screen.
An intake-side leak can admit air into the water circuit. The Ventura troubleshooting table includes checking the sea strainer for leaks when the pump is noisy and air is present; the seal is one part of that housing inspection.
